We currently have an opening for: BHS STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
The
BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator provides technical leadership &
support by planning, directing, and implementing preserve management programs
and stewardship in all YKAN work locations in West Papua Province, Indonesia.
The project modules for which the Coordinator will have technical and financial
responsibility include MPA program planning, conservation planning and
strategies, implementation of MPA management in coordination with local
partners, evaluation and measuring of success, coordination of surveillance
with local authorities, biological and social monitoring, community outreach
and communications. S/he contributes towards establishing the conservation
partnership and negotiates complex and innovative solutions with government
agencies and landowners to conserve and protect natural resources and the
communities that relay upon them. S/he ensures the program is managed in an
effective and efficient manner to develop key conservation partnership, build
the capacity of partners and stakeholders in order to identify and resolve
technical issues and to widely communicate solutions and best practices. The
partners and stakeholders include both public and private organizations,
village leaders, governmental agencies at village, subdistrict, district and
provincial level, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
The
BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator will assist in the implementation of the
Community Development program which will be implemented in all YKAN work
locations using the SIGAP approach. S/He will help develop and maintain good
relationships with the local authorities and communities and networks with
partners in order to gain strong support from them and get their involvement.
The
BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator coordinates and consults regularly with
the Marine & Fisheries Agency of West Papua Province, Management Unit of
MPA and other relaThe BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator works closely with
the Papua Bird’s Head Seascape Manager on the development of annual work plans,
budgets, and progress reports including donor reports. In managing the
site-based conservation, s/he must ensure and is responsible for the
implementation of all activities in compliance with YKAN’s policies and
procedures.
The BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator reports to
the Papua Bird’s Head Seascape Manager and is based in Sorong, Papua Barat,
Indonesia.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS, law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
- Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.
- Experience with principles of land acquisition.
- Experience in training and curriculum design
