THE HABIBIE CENTER JOB VACANCIES 2021

Job Title: Full-time Researcher of Child Stunting

Location: The Habibie Center

Background

The Habibie Center currently is launching a new program of stunting study and searching for a researcher/expert on stunting as part of our team to fulfill our main activity outputs as follows:

  1. Organizing regular public discussions and roundtable discussions related to child stunting issues.
  2. Organizing a national seminar on child stunting.
  3. Producing policy briefs related to child stunting issues.
  4. Liasing with different child stunting-related stakeholders in Indonesia, especially for child stunting-related policy advocacy.
  5. As part of its core team, The Habibie Center plans to hire a full-time researcher of child stunting.
  6. Duration: Initial six months hire period with potential extension based on performance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working under the direct supervision of directors of The Habibie Center and management of the head of politics and government department, to carry out tasks related to organizing regular public and roundtable discussions, and a national seminar, producing policy briefs, reports, and research materials and liaising with different child stunting-related stakeholders in Indonesia.
  2. Producing work plans, including identifying and determining themes and activities, agendas, priority issues and topics as well as resource persons for public and roundtable discussions and a national seminar.
  3. Identifying and liaising with different stakeholders related to child stunting, including government, universities, think tanks, mass media, and NGOs.
  4. Producing policy briefs and activity reports
  5. Working on other administrative matters as required as part of the program.
  6. Assisting The Habibie Center with other activities/events when the need arises.
  7. Requirements

  1. Master’s Degree in public health, specifically majoring in the broader issue of stunting or policy-related stunting in Indonesia.
  2. Demonstrated strong knowledge on broader aspects of stunting and policy-related stunting.
  3. Previous responsible working experience in stunting or policy-related stunting, and specifically experienced in organizing public discussions and roundtable discussion;
  4. Strong capacity or skill in writing academic papers or policy briefs.
  5. Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, including local research organizations, governments, and NGOs;
  6. Being influent in English, written and spoken, will be a benefit.
  7. Integrity, professional discretion, and ability to interact effectively with diverse partners.
